The documentary looks at the fate of long-abandoned hotels in Serbia and how they have altered over time. Ex-hotel employees share their personal stories of triumphs and disappointments, as well as the values and aspirations that united them throughout their time working there. People, places, and hotels have changed over the past few decades as a result of changes in society. This poetic film explores the idea that deserted hotels are a metaphor for lost ideals. But there’s still hope. There are signs of life there. This is a visually stunning film, with haunting original music and astonishing sound design.
